Miles + Molly: We’re siblings who grew up in coastal Kennebunk, Maine. We’ve spent years studying ceramics, mold making, and furniture design all over the country, including at the Penland School of Crafts in the Blue Ridge Mountains; Guilford College; Oregon College of Art and Craft; Montana State University; and the Maine College of Art. Our exposure to art and design, and much of our influence, came from our parents: our mother was a production potter, and our father is a lifelong furniture designer and builder. Two years ago, we decided to convert the upstairs of our father’s furniture shop into the design and build studio we work out of today. Come and visit us in Kennebunk!
Rooted in the belief love what you do, live what you do, SPADONE HOME is dedicated to designing and building by hand decorative and functional objects for the modern home. Our work is playful art combined with earnest design, intended to embolden space and elevate use. Our 2017 product line is our debut line and the culmination of our work in material purveyance, form, function, and beauty.
The Process/ The Handmade
Everything we sell is hand crafted, mostly by us. What we don't make in house, we collaborate on with New England-based artists and craftspeople. We design and build fluently in clay, gypsum, wood, and plastics, taking inspiration from art and design history and from the wild coast of Maine.
Because we create each object by hand, they take slightly longer to produce and process than they would if you bought them at a normal retail store.
In addition, please know there is slight variation in everything we make. For care instructions about clay please read the product descriptions on the product pages.
Returns are accepted only if the item(s) were received damaged. SPADONE HOME must be notified within TWO DAYS if an item was delivered damaged. Please use our contact page for inquiries.
